Is feminism a self-fulfilling prophecy?
Now to load the question a little, with all due respect and great humility on my part:
By going out of their way to confront what they perceive as the male domination of the world, do feminists in fact cause the very oppression they are confronting? Do they, or do they not, in confronting men willy-nilly, obtain a backlash even from those men uninterested in the conflict in the first place? Is such a backlash, if it occurs, effecting even non-feminist women?
State your view in 20 non-abusive words or less – or one abusive word or less.
Make that 2000 non-abusive words or less, one or less abusive words.
Yes, It is.
It draw a backlash even from those men uninterested in the conflict in the first place. It draws fanatic men, religious men….even housewifes.
Such back lash could be very harmful for innocent women who have nothing to do with Feminism.
JUST LIKE ISRAEL ARMY ATTACK OF GAZA STRIP refugee camps with phosphorous CBU has made people get mad at Jews all over the World, though many Jews have nothing to do with INSANE, STUPID IDF Policies. Just like US policy in the Midle-East draw Rabid Hatre of Americans there, though most Americans don’t even know what their own Government did there.

Feminism is going against God Himself and I don’t want anything to do with that.
It is very possible for a backlash against feminism and I’ll gladly wait and see who the real victims are.
As usual innocents will bear the full force of it.

The feminist movement has waged a 50+ long years hate campaign against men and feels that it is completely justify based on its own deluded version of "history" and myths e.g. "the patriarchy", "male privileges", "oppression" and other nonsense that its made up. Men have been tolerating it for decades now (due to political correctness) and they are getting sick of it. Feminists can only attack men so much before they start to fight back, and once they do there be hell to pay. Truth and justice will prevail when that day come (men fighting back) and put an end to feminism hypocrisy and misandry.

It’s based upon a me – me – me – the world is so unfair; every one is against us frame of mind.

I’d like to see some examples.
I’d say that the males are the ones who brought it on themselves. They denied women the right to own their own property. A woman’s paycheck was legally her husband’s property, for instance. She couldn’t get a bank account or credit card in her own name, but had to have her father or husband co-sign for her…and he could empty her account any time he wanted to. A woman who was married could not get a credit card or bank account as Jane Smith. Instead, her husband got that credit card, and she was listed as someone who was permitted to use it…as Mrs. John Smith. She had to have her husband on that checking account, and the permitted signers were Mr. or Mrs. John Smith. Note that it wasn’t John or Jane Smith.
A husband could sell off his wife’s property, without her knowledge or permission. She, however, could NOT sell off that very same property without his signature, which meant that she had to have his knowledge and permission.
Now, there have been cases where feminists have verbally abused men who tried to use "old fashioned courtesy" like holding open a door…but in most cases, these instances of courtesy are actually a subtle, or even a not-so-subtle, implication that the person being accorded the courtesy is too feeble to do things like open a door or get out of a vehicle unassisted. If a person is wearing five yards worth of petticoats and is wearing a corset besides, then that person might very well be too feeble to do anything but drink cups of weak tea while playing Whist. If a person works out for 30 minutes or more three times a week, then that person is perfectly capable of opening her own doors, and getting out of vehicles herself.
I’m not saying that it’s OK to be rude, but many feminists have felt the need to point out even the most subtle bits of sexism in everyday life.

Yes. I would go further and say that modern feminism has blown any chance of people ever taking a women’s movement seriously ever again.
It’s very telling that feminists have been talking about ‘the backlash’ ever since the 1960s. It tells you that they knew what they were doing was f***ed up and knew there would be consequences. It’s like a gang of thieves sitting around talking about "the backlash" from the cops. The amazing thing is that feminism has got away without any serious backlash for so long. But I guess these days with the internet its easier to point out the outrageous problems with feminism.

Feminism to the common person is perceived by how feminists in general act, not only towards them, but how they act to others. This causes animosity between the sexes rather than their so-called desire for equality. They preach the dictionary definition of feminism while in the same breath speak condescendingly towards men.
@Jessica – She wrote "I’d say that the males are the ones who brought it on themselves." So you would brand all men worthy of punishment for something that happened before they were born? That doesn’t seem very fair.

"obtain a backlash even from those men uninterested in the conflict in the first place?"
Excellent observation !
I will give you a perspective that you mught not be aware of ::
I think, as one of our shaykhs (scholars in Islaam ) explained, feminism might be causing some men to become homosexual, because if they can’t get femininity from the women around them, who are taking an adversarial role and pursuing it vigorously; then they will try to find that femininty in homosexual men who are feminine. have you ever noticed how in a homosexual relationships, one takes the dominant role and the other the submissive role and even takes on a feminine voice ?
So feminists are doing a major disservice to women. Wolf in sheeps clothing as they say.
May God help us all.

Okey, dokey. One of those "which came first, the chicken or the egg questions". No doubt about it- men (in particular powerful, wealthy men) ran the show before the 20th century. Up until that time it was only natural that a woman who wanted to be autonomous and in control of her life would desire a more level playing field. After all, the world was becoming more industrialized- the need for "hunter-gatherers" wasn’t as much in demand. So women went out to work and earn paychecks ( another new fangled invention!) but we found that our pay was pitiful! And we thought that we should get to vote (gasp!). So we went about to get rights that would enable us to have more control over our lives without having to ask permission- shocking isn’t it? But just as the world was adapting to these changes along came "Roe vs. Wade". Horror of horrors! A woman having the power to decide whether or not she allowed a pregnancy to come to term with consent to make the decision supported by the government? This pushed a lot of people right over the edge of what they decided was moral in the context of a woman having choices. Make no mistake- up until that point there was nothing "willy-nilly" about the progression of women’s rights. The momentum was quite predictable.
And in retrospect, the backlash was predictable as well. But today, a lot of women are still pushing-for what- I’m not sure. All out power, I guess. But a balance of power was the original intent. Theories of Karl Marx come to mind as to whether or not unfolding events are a self fulfilling prophesy.
